This blog post returns to Karen Peck who is my inspiration and guardian angel.

I am remembering Karen on her birthday.  She was born July 15, 1957.

As mentioned in my previous post, Karen’s maternal Aunt Jean Giczkowski Jazemski was very close to her.  Aunt Jean did not have any children of her own, so she treated Karen like the child she never had.

On Karen’s 16th birthday, Aunt Jean presented her with a scrapbook that she had been working on for three years, but I assume planning it all along from the beginning. It was a work of love and pride. Jean was excited with everything that Karen said, did, and accomplished.

Letter from Aunt Jean to Karen on the occasion of her 16th Birthday

She shared her memories of Karen and important milestones, and for pictures she did not have she replaced with clippings from newspapers and magazines.  She also was a fan of the comic strip, The Family Circus.

So, I would like to share some parts of the Scrapbook with you from Karen’s birth to age 4 years of age. There are many more pages to share later.

***On a different note, Karen’s parents were Ambrose (Hank) and Ann Giczkowski Pecynski.  Before Karen was born they legally changed their name to Peck.***  I do not know the reason for the name change.
